Forty Years Ago Today...

...my son Jon was born.  Nineteen years later we met face to face for the first time.  We've been family ever since!

But there's more! Jon then wisely married Ashley and added her to our fold. Who then gifted the world with Vincent - the first great grandchild for my parents.


Speaking of whom, this seems a good place to mention that my two siblings and I are about to embark on a cross country road trip with my parents from Spokane to Dad's home town, West Plains Missouri. Just like we did back in '72 in a Rambler station wagon.  Well...not quite.o
This time, it'll be a convoy.  The folks and Aunt Dene will command their Class A motor home with all the creature comforts.  Craig just bought a cushy Airstream van camper conversion.  Sheila scored a beastly heavy duty 4x4 Safari van conversion.  I'll be zipping around in my Miata.  Plus, there are mountain bikes involved....

Wait! It gets better!  Besides all of us converging on West Plains at the same time, Jon and Vinny will join Claire and Kate flying out to spend the weekend with all those gathered  for this spontaneous and unscripted adventure and family reunion of Papa's siblings, children, grandchildren, great grandson, cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws and out-laws....
